Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of abstract art. Throughout his life, Kandinsky experimented with different styles, and as the Russian painter and professor grew older, his style became increasingly abstract. In the 1920s, Kandinsky was a regular at the German Bauhaus school, where he spent much of his time working with circles.
Pholc and the dynamic duo Broberg & Ridderstråle were probably inspired by this history when designing and naming the lamp. The elegant, graceful and delicate glass globe protects the light source in the raw metal spear that penetrates the blown glass, creating a dynamic look while the weightless form radiates warmth and a beautiful light.
Kandinsky looks beautiful on its own or in a cluster, above furniture or free-standing in the room.
