Norr11 – Soho dining table

The Soho Table embodies the essence of architectural craftsmanship and is inspired by the distinctive facades of SoHo, New York.

The idea for the design came during a walk through the neighborhood, where the fluted facades of the building left a lasting impression and are directly reflected in the fluted column that forms the core of the table. The fluted surface adds tactility, but also creates a dynamic and changing interplay of depth and shadows throughout the day, depending on how the light falls on it.

The Soho table is made of travertine and features a column and a table top designed to contrast with each other. The table top, thin and light, contrasts with the robust and fluted base of the column. A deliberate interplay between heavy and light elements makes the table interesting. The surface of the table is treated with a Nano coating to prevent light spillage, which guarantees usability without compromising aesthetics, as the surface retains its matte finish. Meanwhile, the raw and untreated column shows the purity of the material and embraces the beauty found in the small hollows and noticeable imperfections.
